其實我們在介紹咖啡鑽與奶油鑽概念的時候，已經包含了其鑑定方法，咖啡鑽則較易辨認，這種褐色的或者其它青色色調很容易看出來。而奶油鑽則不容易看出，就是看上去比較渾濁。( 請注意 : GIA証書沒有描述的最嚴重瑕疵 )
In fact, when we introduced the concept of milky diamond and brownish Milky Greenish (BMG) , we have included the identification method, where brownish Milky Greenish easier to identify because the brown or other cyan hue is easy to recognize. The milky diamond is not easy to see because it is more turbid. (Please note: The GIA certificate does not describe the most serious defects)
奶油鑽：
有一種特殊情況的鑽石，雖然能被鑑定出高級別的顏色，和高級別的淨度，但是價值卻是很低。這種鑽石的內含物是白色的霧，肉眼觀察給人感覺很白，鑽石不透徹，很渾濁，白色的霧嚴重影響了鑽石的火彩，這就是“奶油鑽”。
奶在鑽石中表現為不同顏色的雲霧狀集合體，常見白色，但不乏灰色、黑色，其中白色者即為平常所說的“奶”。
( 請注意奶油鑽有分嚴重、普通、輕微程度,輕微程度的奶油鑽很難用肉眼觀察出來,大家要小心)

除了在棕色彩鑽中的棕色是有益色彩外，在其餘色系包括開普色系鑽石中均為有害色，會嚴重降低主色的純淨度和明亮度。
Brownish Milky Greenish Diamond (BMG) :
Brownish is an abbreviated form of brown. Brown, which is brown or brown coffee color, often appears as a secondary color in the main colors of yellow, orange, green, pink, and red. Of course, brown can also appear alone.
Other than the brown color that is beneficial in the brown diamond, it is harmful to the rest of the color, including the plain color diamonds, which will seriously reduce the purity and brightness of the main color.
